About the Classic Vehicle Rally

The first Classic Vehicle Rally was held in the Royal Burgh of Fortrose in August 2003. The rally was organised in conjunction with the local community council and under the banner of the Highland Classic Motor Club, and was organised at short notice so there were less than two weeks of planning. This resulted in a fine display of over twenty classic vehicles on the day. Since then the rally has gone from strength to strength and we have held a rally every year since, with the exception of 2020 and 2021 where it was not possible to hold the event due to COVID restrictions.

After several years the Fortrose & Rosemarkie Classic Vehicle Rally Committee was formed in order to organise this popular community event with the aim of creating a pleasant day out for both the public and classic vehicle owners. The rally committee are grateful to the classic vehicle movement, without whom there would be no such event.

The event is one of the largest of its kind to be held in this part of the Highlands, and certainly one of the largest community-based events in the Black Isle area. In addition to a display of over 100 classic vehicles at previous events, there has been a pipe band, other field entertainment and local stallholders on the rally field.

For entrants

You are invited to enter the event, which will start at Dingwall Auction Mart Car Park.

Schedule

You should aim to arrive at the auction mart (half a mile west of Dingwall on the A862, see Google Maps location) from 10am. Refreshments are available to purchase in the Drover’s Rest Cafe. From 11am you can enjoy a leisurely 60 minute “scenic tour” to Fortrose, following the directions in your entry pack.

In the interests of public safety, entrants are required to arrive at the Rally field before 1pm. The Rally will finish at 4pm. Should you wish to leave the field earlier than 4pm, please inform a Marshall who will arrange for you to be safely accompanied to the gate.

Light refreshments and entertainment will be available at the rally field in Fortrose throughout the afternoon. A refreshment voucher will be issued for each entrant which will entitle you to a free snack and drink at the Rally field, where catering will be provided.

Complete and return the entry form

Please return the form as soon as possible - by Monday 26th August 2024 at latest. Include your email address to receive confirmation of entry and payment. To return the form:

Send payment

As this is a non-profit community event there is a charge to cover costs of £8 per person. Payment should be made at the same time as entry form submission, by:

• bank transfer (using the details on the form) - please ensure you put your vehicle registration number as the reference on your payment
• or cheque (payable to Fortrose Classic Car Rally) - return by post with the entry form

Receive your entry pack

Entry packs will be posted to you approximately 7 days before the Rally and will include your windscreen number, refreshment voucher, road run directions and raffle tickets.
